Preparation

1. Toast the rustic bread slices until golden and crispy. Set aside.
2. Drizzle the toasted bread with olive oil and lightly rub the garlic over the surface to enhance the flavour.
3. Slice the tomato into thin rounds and place over the toasts.
4. Add the Portuguese sardines on top, distributing them gently.
5. Finish with sliced red onion, fresh parsley or coriander, and an extra drizzle of olive oil.
6. Season with salt, black pepper, and a few drops of lemon juice if desired. Serve immediately.
