SPANISH TORTILLA

The Spanish tortilla, also known as “tortilla de patatas,” is one of the most iconic dishes in Spain. Made with simple ingredients like eggs, potatoes, and onions, this thick omelet is flavorful and versatile, served both hot or cold, as a main dish, a snack, or even in sandwiches.

 

INGREDIENTS

3 medium potatoes

1 onion

4 eggs

1 cups of oil

Scallion

Salt and pepper to taste

 

PREPARATION METHOD

1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into very thin half-slices.

2. Cut the onion into half rings, but a little thicker.

3. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the potatoes and onion over medium heat, when the potatoes are soft.

4. Remove everything from the frying pan with the help of a slotted spoon.

5. Beat the eggs in a bowl until they are frothy.

6. Add the potatoes and onion to the eggs and season with chives, salt and pepper.

7. Mix well.

8. Heat a frying pan (preferably non-stick) with a little oil and add the mixture.

9. Cook over low heat until the bottom is golden.

10. After that, turn the dough over and brown it on the other side.

11. It can be served hot or cold.
