“Aguardente de Medronho” is a bagasse made from the fruits of the arbutus, typical of theAlgarve. The round and red fruits similar to lychees, gives this brandy its unmistakable flavour. There is no tourist who is in the Algarve who, after a sumptuous meal, is not offered this brandy, mainly because it is served with the “bica“, the Portuguese expresso.
