Queijo de Azeitão DOP is a sheep’s cheese and a reference in the national cheese scene, as it is part of the restricted batch of PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) cheeses in the country. Produced with raw sheep’s milk, it is a cheese with an incredibly buttery texture and a characteristic and unmistakable aroma. Its flavour is slightly spicy with a mixture of acidic and salty.
It is advisable to enjoy it sliced and at room temperature.
