Adega Mayor Reserva Red

Ruby-coloured, concentrated wine. On the nose it is intense and expressive, suggesting red berries, ripe black plum, and a subtle violet floral note, supported by hints of spice, pencil, and toasted oak from barrel aging. On the palate, the structured body confirms and deepens the aromatic profile, revealing assertive yet integrated tannins and culminating in a long, persistent finish.

Vinification: After hand-harvesting into 20kg boxes, the grapes are transported to the winery where the bunches are carefully selected. The destemmed grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. After fermentation, part of the wine is aged in stainless steel and the other part in used French oak barrels for a period of 12 months, followed by bottle aging until release.

Gastronomy: The elegance and structure of this wine make it an excellent match for traditional Alentejo cuisine, game dishes, cured meats, pork with breadcrumbs (migas), and more. It also pairs perfectly with more exotic dishes rich in spices.
