Southern Egypt was known as the &#8220;Land of the Bees&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Check out some curiosities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; To produce 1kg of honey, bees need to visit 5 million flowers, where each bee produces about 5 grams of honey per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; A single bee carries around 40 daily flights in search of nectar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Honey takes time to decompose due to its high sugar content and low amount of water. &#8220;Honey was found in an Egyptian tomb, about 3,000 in the Isade. The honey found there was no damage and it was possible to eat it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Bees control the thickness and clarity of their honey, fanning their wings at ventilation points inside the hive at varying rates to control water evaporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Only 7 of the 20,000 known species of bees produce honey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Honey is very old food.
