Quinta do Ortigão vineyards are located at the heart of Bairrada, in Anadia, between the Caramulo and Buçaco mountains at an elevation of about 50 meters above the sea level. The older vineyards were planted in 1972, followed by new plantations in 1999.

Ageing in French oak barrels. Tasting Notes: Pale gold colour. Citric notes with strong mineral highlights. Well-integrated wood in the mouth, giving it a solid structure and a long aftertaste. Good ageing potential.  Storage lying down at a temperature of 15°C. Serve at a temperature of 16°C to 18ºC. Food Pairing: This wine finely accompanies red meats, roast beef and grilled meats.

The grapes for this wine come from a set of plots that, due to their characteristics (soil, sun exposure, etc.) give rise to elegant and fresh reds. The grapes of both varieties fermented without stalking for about a week in an open mill. During this time, pumping over with wood masses was made, several times a day, until the wine reached the desired intensity. Finally, the wine finished fermentation in used barrels from Burgundy (French oak) where it aged. It then moved to a small wooden barrel where it remained until bottling, without any gluing or filtering.
